AMEC URBIS is the Spanish Association for Urban and
Environmental Equipment and includes the following sectors:
Traffic Equipment:
- Carriageway marking and traffic signing
- Road network control and safety
- Traffic regulation/planning
- Car park equipment
- Toll equipment
- Public transport
- Other
Street Furniture:
- Street Furniture
- Public lighting
- Green spaces
- Children’s playgrounds
- Other municipal equipment
The Environment:
- Drinking water and sewage
- Atmospheric pollution
- Solid urban waste
- Industrial, toxic and dangerous waste
- Recycling
- Alternative energy
- Company environment management
- The recovery of impoverished spaces and land
The main objectives of AMEC URBIS are as
follows:
- to represent and defend the interests of the sector
and its associate companies
- to encourage and promote export and the
internationalisation of the sector and its companies,
promoting competitive improvements in the field of commerce,
industry and technology.
AMEC URBIS is part of AMEC which is made up of
ten sector associations of manufacturers of capital goods and
industrial products. Its 500-plus associate companies export
around 2.5 billion euros.
AMEC URBIS is a member of EUCETSA (the European
Committee of Environmental Technology Suppliers Associations)
which is made up of AGORIA (Belgium), UIDA/ANIMA (Italy),
APEMETA (Portugal), The Environmental Industries Commission
(UK), FMS (Austria), SWISSMEM (Switzerland), VDMA (Germany)
and VLM (Netherlands).
At a national level we work together with the Spanish Road
Association (Asociación Española de la Carretera
or AEC).
Furthermore, AMEC URBIS is recognised by ICEX
(the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) to design and manage
the export promotion plan for the whole urban, traffic and
environmental equipment sector.
We take part in the main international fairs in the
sector, including the following:

(France), Enviro Pro (Mexico).

BAU (Germany), BIG 5 SHOW (UAE – Dubai)
Traffic
Intertraffic in the Netherlands, Mexico, the USA, Thailand and

We are members of the Organising Committee of the
following fairs: TRAFIC (Madrid), SMAGUA (Zaragoza) and
MATELEC (Madrid).
Aware of the importance of research, innovation and
technological development, AMEC-ASCON collaborates with a
number of universities and technological centres.
