AMEC ASCON is the Spanish Association for Bathroom and
Construction Equipment and includes the following sub-sectors:
- Plastic sanitaryware
- Ceramic sanitaryware
- Metal sanitaryware
- Bathroom accessories
- Bathroom furniture
- Bathroom taps and fittings
- Valve components and fittings
- Pumps and cisterns
- Piping
- Components
- Bathroom lighting
- Bathroom fixtures
- Heating and ventilation
- Equipment for the brick and ceramic industry
The main objectives of AMEC ASCON are as
follows:
- to represent and defend the interests of the sector
and its associate companies
- to encourage and promote export and the
internationalisation of the sector and its companies,
promoting competitive improvements in the field of commerce,
industry and technology.
AMEC ASCON is part of AMEC which is made up of
ten sector associations of manufacturers of capital goods and
industrial products. Its 500-plus associate companies export
around 2.5 billion euros.

AMEC ASCON collaborates with the main national
associations in the sector such as:
AGRUBAÑO (the National Association of Furniture,
Accessory and Bathroom Screen manufacturers)
AGRIVAL (The National Association of Bathroom Taps and
Fittings and Valve Component Manufacturers)
AFEC (the Association of Air-conditioning Equipment
Manufacturers)
Furthermore, AMEC ASCON is recognised by ICEX
(the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) to design and carry
out the export promotion plan for the whole bathroom and
construction equipment sector.
AMEC ASCON participates in the main
international fairs for the sector:
CONSTRUMAT (Spain), CEVISAMA (Spain), ISH (Germany),
MOSTRA CONVEGNO (Italy), KBIS (USA) and the BIG FIVE SHOW
(United Arab Emirates), among others.
This participation in fairs is reinforced by the fact
that AMEC ASCON is a member of the Organising Committee
of the CONTRUMAT-Baño and SMAGUA fairs. Collaboration
Agreements have been made with both fairs to carry out
international promotion.
Aware of the importance of research, innovation and
technological development, AMEC ASCON works very
closely with various universities and technological centres.
AMEC ASCON participates in three AENOR
Standardisation Technical Committees through its agreement
with AGRUBAÑO:
- AEN / CTN67 / GT5 – Bathroom fittings
- AEN / CTN67 / GT5 – Bathroom screens
- AEN / CTN67 / GT5 – Bathroom furniture
The main publications in the sector in which AMEC
ASCON appears and to which it contributes are
SANITARISTA’S and SALA BAÑO.
