AMEC AMTEX is the Spanish Association of Manufacturers
of Textile and Garment Machinery which includes the following
sub-sectors:
- Spinning machinery and attachments
- Weaving machinery and attachments
- Machinery and attachments for fabrics and
non-fabrics
- Knitwear machinery and attachments
- Dyeing and finish machinery and attachments
- Garment machinery
The objectives of AMEC AMTEX are as follows:
- To represent and defend the interests of the sector
and associate companies.
- To promote the internationalisation of the sector
and its companies, promoting competitive improvements in the
field of commerce, industry and technology.
AMEC AMTEX is part of AMEC which is made up of
ten sector associations of manufacturers of capital goods and
industrial products. Its 500-plus associate companies export
around 2.5 billion euros.
Associate companies export on average over 60% of their
turnover.
AMEC AMTEX is a full member of CEMATEX (The
European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers) of
which ACIMIT (Italy), BTMA (Great Britain), GTM (Netherlands),
SWISSMEM (Switzerland), SYMATEX (Belgium), TMAS (Sweden),
UCMTF (France) and VDMA (Germany) are members, and
collaborates actively with the Spanish Intertextil Council.
We attend the main international fairs in the sector,
including ITMA, the main world fair for the sector organised
by CEMATEX.
Furthermore, AMEC AMTEX is recognised by ICEX
(Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) to design and manage the
export promotion plan for the garment and textile machinery,
product and services sector.
Aware of the importance of research, innovation and
technological development, AMEC AMTEX works very
closely with technological centres and universities including
INTEXTER and Spinning Centre, both of which are part of UPC
(the Technical University of Catalonia).
We hold the secretaryship of the AENOR Standardisation
Technical Committee for CTN 40/SC9 textile machinery.

the sector to which we contribute are as follows:
Revista de la Industria Textil, Noticiero Textil,
Textil Express, Pinker Moda, Its Publishing (Germany), Textil
& Teknik (Turkey), Textil Tecnoloji (Turkey), Textiles
Panamericanos (America), Textilia (Brazil), Pakistan Textile
(Pakistan) and China Textil Leader (China), among others.
