The objectives of AMEC AMTEX are as follows:

  • To represent and defend the interests of the sector and associate companies.
  • To promote the internationalisation of the sector and its companies, promoting competitive improvements in the field of commerce, industry and technology.

AMEC AMTEX is part of AMEC which is made up of ten sector associations of manufacturers of capital goods and industrial products. Its 500-plus associate companies export around 2.5 billion euros.

Associate companies export on average over 60% of their turnover.

AMEC AMTEX is a full member of CEMATEX (The European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers) of which ACIMIT (Italy), BTMA (Great Britain), GTM (Netherlands), SWISSMEM (Switzerland), SYMATEX (Belgium), TMAS (Sweden), UCMTF (France) and VDMA (Germany) are members, and collaborates actively with the Spanish Intertextil Council.

We attend the main international fairs in the sector, including ITMA, the main world fair for the sector organised by CEMATEX.

Aware of the importance of research, innovation and technological development, AMEC AMTEX works very closely with technological centres and universities including INTEXTER and Spinning Centre, both of which are part of UPC (the Technical University of Catalonia).

We hold the secretaryship of the AENOR Standardisation Technical Committee for CTN 40/SC9 textile machinery.

The main national and international publications for the sector to which we contribute are as follows:

Revista de la Industria Textil, Noticiero Textil, Textil Express, Pinker Moda, Its Publishing (Germany), Textil & Teknik (Turkey), Textil Tecnoloji (Turkey), Textiles Panamericanos (America), Textilia (Brazil), Pakistan Textile (Pakistan) and China Textil Leader (China), among others.
