AMEC AEFEMAC is the Spanish Association of
Manufacturers and Dealers of Machinery for the Meat Industry
and Similar, which includes the following sectors:
- Abattoirs and cutting plants
- Production
- Refrigeration
- Drying rooms
- Packing and packaging
- Engineering
- Ingredients and Additives
The objectives of AMEC AEFEMAC are as follows:
- To represent and defend the interests of the sector
and associate companies.
- To promote the internationalisation of the sector
and its companies, promoting competitive improvements in the
field of commerce, industry and technology.
AMEC AEFEMAC is part of AMEC which is made up of
ten sector associations of manufacturers of capital goods and
industrial products. Its 500-plus associate companies export
around 2.5 billion euros.

AMEC AEFEMAC works actively with the following
national associations: AICE, ANAFRIC, ANAGRASA, ANGED,
ANPROGAPOR, APROSA-ANEC, ASICI, ASOCARNE, ASOPROVAC, AVESA,
CEDCARNE, FECIC, FIAB, PROPOLLO, ANCOPORC and ANECAS. It also
works with other international associations.
Furthermore, AMEC AEFEMAC is recognised by ICEX
(the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) to design and carry
out the export promotion plan for the whole machinery,
equipment and services sector for the food industry.
We take part in the main international fairs in the
sector, including the following:
BTA-TECNOCARNICA (Spain), IFFA (Germany), IPA-EMBALLAGE
(France), ANUGA FOOD TEC (Germany), AMI (USA), PROPAK CHINA
(China), PROPAK THAILAND (Thailand) and TECNOFIDTA
(Argentina), among others.
We are members of the Organising Committee of the
BTA-TECNOALIMENTARIA Fair and have a collaboration agreement
with it on the one hand to design and carry out the
international promotion plan and on the other to ensure that
participating associate companies receive considerable
benefits.
Aware of the importance of research, innovation and
technological development, AMEC AEFEMAC works very
closely with various universities and technological centres
such as IRTA (the Institute for Food and Agricultural Research
and Technology).
Together with IRTA and the EUROCARNE journal we
co-organise the NATIONAL MEAT CONGRESS (CONGRESO NACIONAL DE
LA CARNE), a must in the meat sector calendar where the latest
scientific, technological and commercial advances led by the
best experts in the sector are announced.
We hold the secretaryship of the AENOR Standardisation
Technical Committee for CTN/GET7 meat industry machinery.
The main national and international journals in which
we appear and with which we work are as follows: EUROCARNE,
Cárnicas 2000 and Meat International.
